Life Lessons

As I close in on my first month back to work I've come to realize that I've learned some important life lessons over the last few weeks or so. Hang tight...this isn't a sappy blog post...these are life lessons according to my toddler! I think she might be wise beyond her years. So...life lessons according to a toddler:

1. When crying a hug can make it better! My little miss often asks for a "huggie" when she is crying and she insisted I needed them when I spent most of my mornings crying the past few weeks. I have to agree with her, hugs really do make things better and I really might need more of them!

2. When you're upset you should cuddle under a blanket with your mama. She has no idea how poignant this was for me as she tried to wrap me in a giant quilt that my mama made. You're really never too old to need your mama!

3. Even though she proclaimed that daddy is smarter than I am because he can get all the music to play in his car (i.e. he is willing to play Disney radio in his car) we did have an awesome sing and dance party to the Trolls "Get Back Up Again" song. We both agreed that an uplifting song and a good jam session really can make your day better.

4. Lastly, when trying to find the words to explain why I was so upset about leaving "her baby" at daycare she proclaimed: "don't be silly mama, you will come and get us at the end of the day and we'll go home together". She couldn't be more right...at the end of the day we'd all be together!

As a side note, we have gone to three different pumpkin patches this fall in my effort to have as much family time as possible before going back to work. Little miss was very over my picture taking but I just love the barn wall and her general annoyance I captured even if sharing the pictures took me a month.

Hi! I'm Julie, the girl behind the camera and stories at J Bryant Photography. Thanks for stopping by!

I started J Bryant Photography because I had a passion for capturing the everyday things that make our lives unique. Helping to pause time, even just for a moment, so that each memory, age, or event could be remembered forever.

I'm a Kansas City photographer specializing in natural light sessions. I'm available to photograph newborns, kiddos, families, seniors, couples, maternity and more. I'd love to share in capturing special moments in your life. Drop me a line to learn more or to schedule an upcoming session.
